Very nice. Amber color starting toward black.
A bit of sourness from the grains but overall a lightly sweet and slightly hoppy brew.
The carbonation level was great, as was the amount of head.
Very worthy of purchase, if you're ever presented with the chance to try it.

Day 19 of the 2016 Craft Beer Advent Calendar

Dark Auburn colour with thin head.

Caramel malts with some floral fruitiness and spicy hops.

Medium chocolate malts and fruity yeast gives an enjoyable taste.

Slight carbonation goes along with the smooth chewy feel.

Well won't get top mark as I went in expecting a representation from here at home in Canada and didn't really see it, nice they thought of us though!

330ml bottle, day 19 of the 2016 Craft BeerAdvent calendar - the 'Canadian Edition 2016'. Don't know how that makes it any different from the one listed here.

This beer pours a clear, dark orange-brick brown colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly beige head, which leaves some defrosting windshield lace around the glass as things slowly dissipate.

It smells of gritty and grainy caramel malt, cocoa powder, subtle black stone fruit notes, ephemeral cafe-au-lait, and some very tame earthy, citrusy, and spicy hoppiness. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, a touch of caramel sweetness, bittersweet chocolate, faint earthy spices, some dark orchard fruitiness, mild coffee, a free-range roastiness, and more plain leafy, citrusy, and musty hop bitterness.

The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its caressing frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and actually quite smooth, with a gentle airy creaminess arising as things warm up a tad. It finishes off-dry, the roasted malt, cocoa, and a burgeoning vanilla essence seeing us out into the night.

Overall, this is a nice enough winter offering, lots of typical seasonal affectations abounding (except the spice, it sure clocked out early). Still not certain what's so Canuckian about this, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Nice winter warmer of an extreme dark amber color and a tiny and light beige foam.
Smell is a bit sweet, the roasted malts notes are the highlight and come with coffe notes and some spiciness/hoppiness. Taste is similar with some notes of cola and just a hint of fruity tones. I could feel some yeasty notes in the last sips too.
Body is not high, but delicate and cabonation is appropriate.
A good beer, but not spetacular.
The ABV is not high, but it warmed me a bit up!

Dark amber with puffy tan head that leaves nice cathedral lace. Musty wet grain sack with some apple skin and foil on the nose.
Toasted rusks, some chocolate malt, and stewed cranberry, a sour roasty bite, with big clean spicy hops.
Orange skin end and numbing hoppy linger. Medium, chewy, plenty of fizz.

Strange hybrid. Premium bitter at it's heart, but the Cascade citrus and roast barley throw in a twist. Not sure it all hangs together, but more interesting than a cookie cutter Christmas beer.
