A very creamy, foamy and dense head fades into a nice looking white collar. Nice lacing. A hazy copper honey color. The taste is of honey, with the thickness of it; very floral honey. Peaches also. Very citric, dry, almost tart notes of grapefruit. The hoppiness is deep and persistent and creates a nice thick mouthfeel, round and long lasting.

Youteizan is known as "Ezo Fuji" in Hokkaido--because of it's likeness to Mount Fuji. This beer's big hype is that it uses both water from near Mount Youtei as well as deep-sea water from a town called Iwanai. It says, referring to the deep-sea water, that it makes the yeast more active. Why not!
The body is a rich gold, with an off-white, medium bubble head. The smell is sweet and apply and pretty strong fragrant hops. A bit worty.
The taste is round, strong on bitter hops both in the mouth and in the finish. Light roasted grains in a medium body.
A liked this beer's IPA character, but there was something in the sour hops that turned me off from really liking it.
