A long lasting dense head on an intense opaque dark color body. The smell is fresh with subtle notes of coffee. The taste is sweet, with some fruitiness, some strawberry jelly for the taste and the thickness and the chewyness in the mouthfeel. The mouthfeel is good, but a bit less round and achieved than other beers from this brewery. A surprizing beer, quite hard to describe.

A burgundy brown body, with a dark brown head, this is a funky beer to look at. The smell is slightly smoked, freshly cut apples--over a formidable malt base.
The taste is a slightly winey malt one, with a light to medium hop finish. Sweet, syrupy character and a fruity wine finish. Apples. The mouthfeel was totally different having it from this bottle--and having it on-tap. On-tap the carbonation was gripping and slightly overwhelming; however, from the bottle, it was weak. I preferred it on-tap I think.
The 7% was unnoticeable in this thick brew. However, a little too winey perhaps to have more than one or two.
Yet another wild beer from Kairinmaru. This one's title means "Throbbing Malts" and features a monk and a large-breasted naked woman.
