Hazed and obscured golden bodied with a well-kept white froth above.
Nose is dynamic and changes with each sniff. Mostly though, there are candied sour apples, cloves, powdered sugar and sourdough bread.
Like a cross between a Witbier and a Belgian "single". Begins lightly doughy with accentuations from cloves and white pepper. Turns quite sour with an aggregation of lemon juice and green apples. Quasi-Lambic like. Almost puckering. The tartness lingers as the maltiness gradually builds again. Cracker dryness accents the sour hues. Hop finale is drying, with a vague tulip floral sweetness, but adds little else flavorwise. Acidic all the way through.
Med-light bodied. This is a supreme Belgian-styled quaffer. Use Witkap Pater Singel as a reference point.
Flavorful and demanding. Lovely and consumable in huge amounts.
I really, really like this stuff.
