Clear and dark rubied copper. The head exists only in spiriling swirls on the surface.
Nose full of brandy-drown figs and soft caramel candies.
Begins malty sweet. Toffee-glazed, booze-soaked, cherries. Molasses coated dates. Brown sugar that's lightly burnt. Green apple tartness. Perhaps some musty herbals around the close, but hopping is basically invisible.
It's thin bodied even by regular bock standards.
This is all sweet and shallow and unidimensional. The apple hues are misplaced. So is the mustiness. So is most of everything.
This is flawed, fatally so.

Reddish brown in color...nose is of european malts...smells like an English Pale Ale a little....the body is thin for a doppel...the flavor features those english malts...some nutty characteristics...toasty....just not a powerpacked doppelbock...I see this as more of a bock...as a bock I would rate it a little above average....as a doppel it is OK but not in the big dogs leagues....

The beer is mahagony with a slight head. This beer smells a bit like body odor. It doesn't smell good. The taste is really off too. Stale. Also , the B.O. taste is there. Not good. I have had worse beers as of late (Fox River Scottish Ale and Nicolet's Pilsener and Dark Pilsener), but this is not good. This one, however, I CAN finish.
