Deep copper bodied, under a lengthy skimming of beige.
Estery nose. Bananas. Candied blue raspberries (in all their artificiality). Pine.
This ain't no brown ale. But what is it?
It draws some resemblence to Anchor's OSA. Or is that just from the name? Whatever. That parallel quickly fades.
Enters with estery traits flailing away. Bubble gum. More blue raspberries. Candy Canes? Mint leaves. Gummy, pine sap. Sweetened bananas.
I'm not so sure what is going on here. But I do know that there is a substancial caramel malt backing, with traces of burnt toast. There is also a quick snap of (NW) North American hops that adds citric hues, and strength to the pine sensation.
It leaves a powdery bitterness in its wake. It's not strong, but it is evident.
Thinnish bodied, but very drinkable in spite of its eccentrcities.
This isn't cohesive in the least, but that is part of its allure.
Strange, but very decent.
