Originally reviewed March 19, 2005. On tap at the brewpub. Glowing clear gold pour, without much head. Decent lacing. Very very light aroma of chipotle. Very light floral hops flavor, much like a watered down SNPA. Very strong finish of bleu cheese! Subsequent pourings of this beer have not yielded any better results. Sometimes the blue cheese is present in the flavor. Sometimes walnuts dominate. Other times the hops are misused and it tastes like mouthfull of pennies. No consistancy and never really a beer that's any good.
Unfortunately, as the KBC is expanding, they're going to be adding this to their canning line up, which could be their demise.

I really enjoyed this brew on tap and out of my growler.
Copper-yellow color with thin head (in the bar, better head out of my gowler when I poured it exactly right) that retains and laces well.
Surprisingly almost no smell at all!
Liquid Bread. Strong Bready and Biscuity malts are outstantding in this brew! Hops subdued until late, but very assertive when they make themselves known. Malt outlasts the hops for a bready aftertaste.
Pleasantly light body, very nice pale ale.
Not quite a session beer, but a very good Pale Ale offering in my book! I can't wait to visit KBC again to try more of this! Hopefully they begin bottling/canning this one!
