Originally reviewed March 19, 2005. On tap at the brewpub. Deep clear chocolate brown, but still transparent pour, with slightly diminished head. Great sticky lacing that just coats the glass. Light malt and fruit aroma. Rich bourbon flavors with a backing of nuts and toast. Not too complex, but simply pleasing. Palate is watery. A light aftertaste and smack of bitter almonds. Probably the most complex and intriguing of their standard lineup; not excelling or suffering.

WOW! Another good beer from KBC, not standing out in any great way from the style, but very good within typical style characterisitics!
Deep brown-mahogany color w-creamy off-white head. Lace sticks a little bit.
Smells of coffee bitterness, slight sweetness, and even slighter butterscotch.
Great tasting brew! Dark roasted nutty malt with very slight bitterness. Hops present but well balanced with roasted malt being more powerful.
Medium-light body with some heaviness, but nowhere near thick with some light carbonation.
A very good brown ale, another one I can't wait to drink again!
