Originally reviewed on March 29, 2006. On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with ruddy fringes and a soapy off-white head. Light aroma of brown sugars. Flavor of bitter burnt caramel sweetness with copper tang. Nice body, not too thin and warming alcohol noted. Flavor finishes out with another mouthfull of pennies, even though it does at some level decently balance the beer. Learn how to use hops! Heavy smack of fresh salty pretzel at the end.
