Dark tarnished brown under a tan skimming.
Peaty, smoke-filled nose. A ringer for Scotch.
Bready malts establish a base initially, but the peat wastes no time arriving. Once again smoky, Scotch-like and tangy. Light toffee sweetness and impressions of black cherries underneath. Tanginess lingers throughout, as do traces of smoke. Hopping is of little note, but provides dryness along with subtle herbs.
Light bodied- probably a hair on the thin side- with streaming carbonation.
This is a well-done, flavorful, low-strength quaffer. It's a style I'd like to see more often.
