On tap at Great Dane Hilldale. Served in a tulip glass.
Black body, opaque, one finger brown head with good retention time, some lacing; thin collar. Smell is primarily roasted malt, very nutty, chocolate, not much bitterness or espresso. Flavour has mild dark fruit, plenty of roast and nuttiness, a bit of dark chocolate; sweet but not too sweet, fair amount of complexity. Mouthfeel is very good, medium-full bodied, good carbonation, slightly creamy with a thicker consistency yet very drinkable, no alcohol heat and plenty of flavour. Finish is a mild roasted char. Overall, a nice drinkable RIS with a good flavour profile and mouthfeel. I enjoyed this a fair amount.
