Note: Same as the "Special Belgian Ale" - This is just the 2006 Vintage.
Pours a glistening raisin with ruby hues into an imperial pint glass (kind of a dangerous amount of dubbel to drink in one glass dont you think?). Nutty aroma with plenty of grape skins, prunes, plums, and butterscotch to boot. Taste is toasted wheat bread, sweet grapes, dry roasted mixed nuts, followed by ripe purple grapes dipped in white chocolate and light caramel. Seems strong, mildly warming but alcohol is well covered and not found in the taste at all. Medium body, lightish carbonation, mildly spicy finish. Very drinkable.

(Served in a sampler glass)
A-This beer has a light warm brown body with a thin light tan head that turned to a thin ring around the rim.
S- The smell of perfume with a hint of roses was soft with a slight sweet candy note.
T- The light taste of caramel malt was sweet but not overly sweet. No taste of pot caramel and the finish was a nice spicy note but it didn't have any distinct hop flavors.
M- This beer had a medium-light mouthfeel with a sweet finish that was pretty close to neutral.
D- This beer had soft nice flavors that weren't overly sweet and not overly perfumy. Good balance and flavor. I didn't get any strong alcohol flavors but I had the feeling it was a higher ABV that I suspected.
