Murky dark brown, almost purple body with a touch of off-white lace. Aroma of roasted malt and grapes. Light bodied, smooth and creamy like cream soda. Front is sweet and fruity with powerful grape soda flavors. Finish is all roasty and toasty malt with a mild but clinging lactic bitterness in the finish. Lactic qualities are less noticeable than the cask version. Less balanced than the cask version. Grape soda pop flavors are really quite strong and although I like them very much I can’t get past them to experience much else. Better at room temperature than when poured. Still very drinkable.
