Bronzed dark hay colored with a good deal of smog under a slow moving stack of ivory foam.
Simcoe gives the nose a lightly peppery, lime rind, and wintergreen oil hoppiness, backed with whispers of pale malt.
Shortbread and white toast initiate the malt on the mouth. It dries immediately with just a dab of sugar cookie lingering. Hops are the feature, but a touch less brazen than I might have expected (which was more or less a DIPA), and less assertively bitter than I'd expect from something focused on a high alpha acid variety. They're a touch earthy, with dried leaves and flowers, a touch citric with lime and orange zest, and touch coniferous, a backend pine needle notion.
The cask imparts a fleecy texture that sits slightly fuller than medium, thinning a bit as it goes.
Good stuff. Not as taxing or bracing as a double IPA, while still focusing squarely on hops. This almost presents as a quaffer, so watch out.

A- arrived at the table with a delicious frothy white head on top of a copper body. slightly cloudy, chill haze.
arrived relatively cold for a cask ale, though the carbonation was just right. worked well and gave a nice accent of the hops. different because they definitely keep their other cask beers at the correct temp, so this was intentional.
S- cascade hops shining though. a light malt backbone underneath. more of a pale ale, though due to the name on the list, i labled it as such.
T- crisp delicious hops all around, very tasty. very tasty malt as well.
M- thick creamy body, very tasty all around
D- a good beer all around. a couple of these give a buzz though so be careful.
