Tried this on tap at the Great Dane (surprise, surprise). Served in a pint glass. Review is copied from notes.
A: There was a finger of soft, white head which slowly receded, leaving a small amount of lace on the side of the glass at first, then disappearing without a trace. The color was a light gold; darker than any light beer, but light enough to be considered "gold". The fairly clear beer showed off its modest carbonation.
S: The smell is faint. It promises a mildly malty beer backed up by some good ole European hops.
T: The taste up front is more malty than expected, but actually quite appropriate for the style. The bitter hop flavor comes through in the aftertaste, while the beer is balanced throughout.
M: Light bodied beer with a sharp, crisp carbonation. Excellent for the style.
D: A very drinkable beer! Such a good summer beer, that I would have multiple. Shit, I would even buy a case if they offered. That is saying a lot, if I would buy a case of a light summer beer.

This is the best Kolsch that I have had, (but I've only tasted a few so that's not saying much).
It had a light-medium body and looked almost pilsner like. It went down easy enough and feel resembled that of a lager. I could drink a lot of this on a hot summer day.
The hops were mellow compared to the other Kolsches that I have tried. I think that this may be why I prefer this Kolsch to others. The sweetness of the malt comes through better in the Dane's then other American Kolsch beers that I have tasted. This makes up for a slightly bitter aftertaste.
I found this beer very enjoyable, especially considering how simple it is. I had it just before a meal and I think that it's simplicity and cleanness made it a good aperitif.

Gleaming golden with a pure white sea-foam atop.
Clean nose with pinpricks of spicy hops with a faint bread backing..
Delicate white bread start with a solid pils malt base . Turns a touch grainy midway but by no means abrasive or coarse. Lager-esque, clean water middle. Dry throughout with minimal fruitness. Perhaps a ghostly honeyed sweetness, but that may even be stretching things. Hops rise gradually until the are focused at the end. Tempered German spice hop kick with some grassy, herb qualities. Totally clean afterward.
Light bodied with streaming carbonation. Crisp and almost brittle.
Not a complicated brew, but an authentic tasting one and a very adequate quencher.
A nice one here.
