definitely a weird one, actually brewed with tequila and triple sec, along with some lime juice to mimic the classic cocktail. it sure is peculiar, and really doesnt drink like a beer at all. its tart sure, they actually did a pretty reasonable job with the lacto souring, but i get almost no grain or yeast or hop elements to the beer at all, instead its limey, spicy from the tequila, and whatever the heck this red salt is they put on the rim is making it incredibly salty. looks like it could be a chili salt or something, and chunks of it float around the still looking brass colored brew, visually brutal, but we both like the taste. its really limey, but the tequila is obvious too, and there is a stone fruit sweetness here thats kind of cool, it definitely is margarita-esque with the salt too, and the sourness works with it, sort of at the same pitch as the lime. i wish it had more bubbles and a little more beer character, and i really dont like looking at it with all this salt and whatever else is on the rim floating around in it, but when i close my eyes and drink it, its refreshing and good. ill have to file this one away among one of the stranger beers ive had, but better this to be a little wonky when trying something so out there than a wonky basic hefe, which we also had in here...
