Copenhagen 29/11 2015. 50 cl bottle from Rema 1000, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. For once a Christmas Beer which label is not overloaded with fir willows, Santas and reindeers. Just boring and blue.
Pours clear reddish brown with a creamy white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm layer of frothy foam covering the surface of the beer and clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, lightly fermented fruit and a whiff of booziness.
Medium strong carbonation. Soft, oily and lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light alcoholic burn. Harsh bitterness lingering.
Nice Christmas beer where I don't have to fight my way through a ton of dry fruit and cinnamon.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Beautiful deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head with good retention. Nice aroma of caramel, also mild spicy notes. The flavour is spicy and complex with notes of caramel and dark dried fruits, esp. raisins. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish, slightly sharp in the aftertaste. Overall very good - I am astonished that it is not rated higher.
