Copenhagen 16/9 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Very foamy upon opening making wet patches on my floor. At least they smell good. A lot of whiskey bottles on the off-white label to send me a clear signal that this brew is made with American whisKEY,
Pours clear amber with a white head. Stable. Settles as very thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Very moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweetish and a little bit of everything. Floral hops, sugary malts and something slightly boozy which I suspect must be the aforementioned whiskey.
Soft carbonation and soft slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by a light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and slightly boozy.
By no means the worst whiskey barrel beer I’ve tasted.

500 ml bottle, from Lidl Hjørring. ABV is 8.0%. Matured on American oak and lava rocks. Amber to reddish brown colour, large head, slightly off-white. Distinct aroma of American oak and caramel, a hint of vanilla. Fairly sweet flavour, very oaky (bourbon-like), some charred oak, plenty of caramel, hints of vanilla, the alcohol is noticeable, moderate hops. Warming throatfeel. Enjoyable.
