Copenhagen 13/6 2015. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Off-white label with a horizontal dark brown stripe at the top.

Pours dark brown - almost black - with a big beige head. Stable. Settles very slowly to a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam coverng the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Distinct aroma of dark malts, coffee and licorice. Dark roasted malts. caramel and toffee.

Soft carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, a bit creamy, almost fat texture.

Flavor is sweetish with a little caramel nicely balanced by a light bitterness which lingers in the aftertaste.

Fine but not extraordinary porter.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Top fermented, ABV is 7.5%. Black colour, big and lasting brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and mild coffee. Roasty flavour, notes of burnt toast and strong coffee, hints of dark bitter chocolate and liquorice, but the beer is not very sweet. Fairly bitter finish and aftertaste.

This is a coffee porter, with a cold cup of regular coffee's bitterness. It is a nice brown colour, not much head, and a coffee aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Licorice spiciness. Smooth but its roasted coffee. Understated carbonation. Not very satisfying, its more liked by others. Thanks Maria.
