Copenhagen 3/3 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Thisted's usual Limfjords dark blue and brown design this time supplemented by a light blue.
Pours very dark, almost opaque but clear dark brown with a red hue. Small off-white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with sweet, malty odor mingling with toasted notes. Caramel, toffee. Hints of licorice. Roasted malts.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is sweet caramel with a salty touch of licorice.
I will always expect something quite heavy when they apply Limfjorden to the name of a beer. This is not. It's a decent Brown Ale of the sweetish variety.

500 ml bottle, from Føtex Ebeltoft. ABV is 6.0%. Reddish brown colour, large and lasting off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and liquorice, hints of brown bread. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. More liquorice and some bittering hops in the finish.
