ØL Rug is a reddish-brown, full-bodied ale brewed exclusively with organic malt grown and malted at Gyrupgaard in Thy.
Rye malt and toasted rye give a spicy and slightly sour aroma that reminds us of toasted rye bread.
ØL Rug is perfect for a good lunch and for strong-tasting hot dishes.

Copenhagen 11/2 2018. 63 cl bottle from Meny. Text rich and informative label assuring me that this is indeed an biodynamic experience with rye from a local producer.
Pours slightly hazy red amber with a small off-white head. Settles as a thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer and crawling up the side of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is strong. Roasted corn, smoke, sweet caramel and brown sugar.
Medium strong carbonation and soft but watery palate.
Flavor has prominent sweetness followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter sweet and lingering.
Pleasant soft, dark beer on the sweet side - but not without bite.
