ØL Spelt is a pale ale with a slightly sweet and spicy aroma. From Denmark's new micromaltery Gyrup, located in southern Thy, we have used roasted and pale barley malt as well as wheat and spelt malt.
Organic Cascade hops and Belgian yeast add further complexity to ØL Spelt, and the result is both an easy-drinking and exciting beer that goes well with not too strong food.

Copenhagen 1/3 2018. 63 cl bottle from Meny. The result of a collaboration between Thisted Bryghus and a local biodynamic farm. Label with some information about the beer. Hops, malt, ABV and so on and not much else.
Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a bubbly white head. Settles as a patchy, thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is quite sweet and wheat-ish. Lightly citric lemonade. Pleasantly fruity although sweet.
Medium strong carbonation and watery, thin texture.
Flavor has fairly strong sweetness. Fruity and not cloying. Bitterness is lighter but noticeable. Aftertaste is sweetish with only a light bitterness.
Nice enough pretty light wheat beer. Must admit I could not discern that it was based on Spelt and not on ordinary Wheat.
