St. Nikolaus is a strong Belgian Dubbel. This sumptuous Christmas brew is brewed for six months before being bottled. In addition to the Belgian Trappist yeast, the taste is characterized by a unique blend of spices, brown sugars and Belgian roasted malts.
The last two months before bottling it is aged with roasted oak, and the result is an almost vinous harmonious powerhouse that almost calls for roast duck on Christmas Eve.
Recommended serving temperature 10-12˚C

Copenhagen 28/12 2015. 63 cl bottle from Meny, Østerflled Torv, Kbh. Ø. A little bit of Christmas decorations but no chubby Santa on the label - a little bit disappointing for a beer named Skt. Nikolaus.
Pours clear dark copper brown with a white head. A bit bubbly. Disappears fairly fast leaving a flimsy islands of foam behind. No lacing.
Aroma is condensed with notes of caramel, yeast and alcohol. Something sharp fruity and a little bit chemical as well.
Rather strong carbonation and thick texture. Lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is spicy and of roasted malts, licorice, alcohol and a little caramel sweetness. Medium bitter aftertaste.
More bitter than expected - but that's what you get when you buy a Christmas beer without Santa's mild face on the label. But a decent strong brew with enough spices to make you forget the high alcohol percentage.
