Copenhagen 28/8 2016. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly. Huge chunk of cheese to signify that this beer is supposed to be a good fit for the cheese.

Pours dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Settles as thin patches of foam floating around. No lacing to speak of.

Aroma is sweetish. caramel, toffee and some slightly tart gooseberries. Alcohol lurking in the background.

Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is heavily sweet and a little boozy followed by a quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while.

A bit heavy as an alternative to a Sauterne - but not bad.
