Bottle. Brewed in Sept '04 & bottled in Aug '05.
Poured a dark and cloudy golden / orange color with a small sized white head. Aromas of wood / oak (not overpowering and nice), cherries, citrus, and brett. Tastes of cherries, wood, bready, and brett. Lightly sweet with a light tart finish. Its a shame that only 206 bottles were produced, as I would love to get more of this one.

Enjoyed as part of an Upstream Belgian beer tasting; 750ml bottle supplied by me.
This review is interpreted from sloppy, disjointed notes:
Pale, pinkish-peachy in hue, lightly hazy; I was expecting a darker beer. Maybe Upstream was a little light on the cherries. A scrawny, fizzy, white head formed on the pour, it didnt last long. The appearance is disappointing, it looked thin and uninspiring.
The nose was tart with cherries faintly in the mix plus some citrus zest and oak. I was expecting a sweeter beer, more like Lindemans. (I was secretly hoping for Rosé De Gambrinus I dream big.) This is more like a blush zinfandel. Moderately low aromas, it lacks depth and richness.
The palate offers some mild cherries, they are not very sour or tart but they are kind of sweet at the finish. Not cloying. What sourness is noticed is refreshing. There are oak hints and faint hints of barnyard. While there isnt much flavor depth this is a decent drink. It could use a little more of everything.
Medium/medium-light in body, low but natural carbonation, the mouthfeel is good but nothing special.
Tasty but not complex enough; this is one of the more restrained Krieks I have had. I think it needed more cherries. Maybe this flawed can be fixed in the next batch. Sure, this beer is drinkable but at the price ($20 for a 750ml) I will not revisit anytime soon. It is decent at best; still I am happy I got to try this one.
