Bottle #72, bottled on 8-16-13. The Pacific Jade has the olive green wax coat over the bottle cap. Poured in a snifter, the beer is a bright, pale, hazy, golden-blonde coloring with a frothy, sparse, white head that makes a solid ring on the surface. Good, steady, slow flow of carbonation throughout the body. Aromas of fig and date, richly sweet, with tropical fruit overlays of pineapple and mango. Some subtle yeasty tang, but more fruit sweetness than anything. Flavors are mild on the forward tongue, with a very nice blend of all the fruity characteristics highlighted by a spice blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. Pineapple leads the fruit-cup charge, with notes of pear, mango, tangerine, and finally a toss of the hand from the old world fruits, with hints of date, fig, and raisin. Once again, the flavors are subtle, but very well balanced. No signs of the higher ABV while you drink, and the balance is very enjoyable. Smooth, light bodied, with an effervescent end feel thanks to the hard work of all those bubbles. Subtly spiced and tangy sweet aftertaste. Very easy drinker, and very subtle characteristics throughout.
