Adding this to the site as an Oatmeal stout because I cant find any info about it on their website and the alcohol is higher than their normal oatmeal stout but not to the extent that I think it would change the style listing.
Thank you Jonathan for sharing this growler with me. It pours a dark brown to black with ruby clarity and a khaki to brown head that retains very well.
The smell is quite sweet like raison and chocolate with a little fruity alcohol aspect and faint citrus. More smells reveal toffee and molasses.
The taste is also quite sweet with chocolate, raison, toffee and molasses. A leathery earthiness blends with citrus and minerals to attempt to balance out the sweetness. The alcohol however gets more noticeable with each sip.
This is medium to fuller bodied with modest carbonation. A nice and enjoyable take on the style but a little excessive on the sweetness for me to enjoy more than a pint.
