Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark brown-to-black coloring with a dense, creamy, light brown head. Nose of roast and coffee, with a creamy highlight. Flavors of dry roasted coffee and cream highlights on a thin, dry body. Bitter and roasted aftertaste, with a clean, smooth finish. Very tasty, and very well crafted.

A - Spuer dark black color with a finger of super cramy tan-brownish head. Excellent retention and some very nice lacing left on the glass.

S - Aroma is full of roasted caramel malts, blended with some nice chocolate aromas. There is also a touch of milk sweetness that blends nicely.

T - Starts off with some sweet roasted caramel flavors with a little bit of background sweetness mixed in. Through the middle more roasted flavors come through alongside some cocoa. The finish is a nice blend of the roasted toffee malts and some milk sweetness which lingers very nicely.

M - Medium bodied with a moderate-low amount of carbonation. Beer is super creamy but still a touch lively on the tongue. Very smooth and dry finish is really pleasant.

D - Very drinkable. Overall very smooth and creamy with some very nicely balanced flavors. The sweetness is not too much and really compliments the roasted flavors well.

Picked up a growler for the Super Bowl, had to crack into it a little earlier in the day! Poured to a pitch-black color with a nice sized dark tan head, good retention and lacing from the first pour of the growler. Subsequent pours lead to smaller amount of head, et al. Has a lot of roasted and some and slightly burnt malt aromas. Chocolate and coffee notes as well ... sweet aroma is there but not up front. The Chocolate and coffee notes come out quickly in the flavor, more astringent than I was expecting but it is welcomed. Has a creamy feel but not as much as other IDS that I have had but I figure that is due to the growler being the vessel. Very mild flavors but IMO what a dry stout should be. Goes down so well, I have finished the growler and really wish I had a second! A great local sessional brew. Overall this beer is solid, exactly what it should be for this style.
