I could see how this beer could be compared to a Hop Wallop style IPA however I felt that it's more of a Hop Devil like profile with the deeper amber caramel highlights pours with a lucious cream colored head leaves partial rings of lacing nice IPA. Aroma: Big hoppy robust malts the hops bring about a piney and floral mix great stuff with a sugary caramel backbone excellent stuff. Taste: Sweet caramel caramelized with some whole leaf hops added to the boil some earthy tone and nice citrusy flavor excellent IPA the best I have taste at a brewpub. Mouthfeel: Medium body silky yet sticky at points with some resins sliding along the palate nice carbonation. Drinkability: Quality IPA good stuff easy drinking hoppy beer time for a growler my friends, oh no they were out of growlers but they will fill any growler another mark added for Red Star.

Served in a pint glass at Red Star. The color was golden, with an excellent white head retention, with lots of lacing. The smell was a very strong citrusy hoppiness. The taste was a very strong grapefruit hoppiness with just a touch of grassiness. Mouthfeel was well-carbonated. As for drinkability, I'd have these ones as long as the IBUs didn't numb my mouth!!
Certainly the best beer that I've ever had at Red Star, and a real winner!! I admit that I thought that this was a slight Hop Wallop clone, but who knows....maybe they had the recipe first? Regardless, as far as Imperial IPAs go, this is up there, and this is one I'll gladly have yearly!!
