This pours a monster, thick, creamy, beige head that just radiates chocolate. You have to suck up the foam to get close to the brew with milkshake like cocoa on the way. Once you get there this beer is almost ebony and like looking through a black curtain into the night. Taste is a bit drier than some oatmeal stouts with the bitter roasted barley taking precedence over the barley malt. Carbonation is low showcasing the dark roasted grains and some tannic flavors.
A bit oily and oatey in the finish. Very drinkable, somehow like a dry Irish oatmeal stout.
