Notes: A refreshingly unfiltered summer wheat. Some light malt sweetness and a faint bready character, balanced by a touch of hop character and finishing with a thirst quenching hint of ginger.

A wheat and a hint of ginger, crisp with a reasonable body.

Taste Rating in Words: It's a hot summer day, you get out of the pool, grab your towel, give it a roll and with the flick of your wrist, SNAP.

This is an alright beer for doing law work or some other project in the summer. This tastes like something from Andheiser Busch with a little more flavor. Poured yellow, not has cloudy as I thought it'd be since its unfiltered. Slight head with lacing. Ginger hint is nice. Not as yeasty as Magic Hat claims in my opinion. Only for summer.

L: Clear yellow gold. Plenty of head. Dissipates some what slowly then leaves a layer on top. Some lacing.

S: A hint of ginger. Bready, malty. No hop presence.

T: Follows nose but with a bit more ginger. Nice. Very refreshing.

F: Light bodied, Medium to high carbonation.

O: Surprisingly, I liked it a lot.

It's a good thing that Magic Hat Stealin' Time is a summer wheat beer–emphasis on 'summer'–and sells itself as such because after a hot day, this is potentially a great beer.

Though the thing is, I can't stand Budweiser, yet if the weather is hot enough–or I'm broke enough and can't afford a Heineken–Budweiser tastes much better than it typically does.

The scent of Stealin' Time is slightly funky and the flavor has a hint of sourness (which may be typical of wheat beers. I don't drink enough of them to say) with mild carbonation.

The color is a rich yellow, with a light head that dissipates quickly.

Part of what makes it so refreshing is that it feels very watery–and you don't get more refreshing that that–and while there's some flavor, it's not what I call a challenging or even engaging, brew. Its relative lack of character works in it's favor in that it's an easy beer to like.

And as long as you don't ask too much of it, Stealin' Time will keep you engaged.

From a bottle, pours a not quite clear gold with fluffy white head. Aromas of ginger, wheat with a bit of indistinct fruit. Taste is wheat-forward with definite ginger spiciness and carbonation. Body starts reasonably moderate but flavors fade fairly quickly leaving a watery impression.

Bottle to snifter.
LOOK: clear orange-yellow, small head.
AROMA: ginger, lemon,
TASTE: light lemon, grapefruit, grape must, ginger hits later but strong. Some sour, some bitter.
FEEL: thin

Ok, interesting, but nothing special.....for me ginger has to be just right, and this is a little off.

Light and thin is how I would describe this beer. very light yellow pour, smells the smell is difficult to distinguish, kind of wheaty. I would say the feel is thin and taste is very much like a thin light beer with elements of wheat mixed in.

I would have to say its a beer i wouldn't mind drinking but doesn't have any distinguishable value. On this bottles label it decries the beer as "A Summer Fling...with a Zing!" My catch phrase for it would be: "A Summer Beer...with MEH!"

This is why I don't make catch phrases.

I really like wheat beers, but this one just didn't tingle my toes.

Pours a very clear, amber hued liquid with a nice head, good staying power and very good lacing down the pint glass. The smell was pretty good too - the strong wheat odor that I like so much. But after that is where the wheels fell off the wagon. The mouthfeel is very astringent, very dry, and very carbonated - not a good combo. The beer starts off very tinny in taste but that tapers off to just a plain bitter beer with no complexity. I gave it an decent overall score due to its great look and smell, but for the sake of drinking the brew there's not much to make me come back to try again.

12oz undated can.

Pours clear yellow with minimal head and lacing. Faint fruit, crackery wheat, and ginger skins in the nose. Light bodied and a thin mouthfeel. The palate is watery and boring with only a trace of random spice and grassy wheat. No ginger as expected and really very little flavor.

The worst Magic Hat I've ever had. Watered down and lame. Reminds me of Budweiser.

12 oz. bottle, no bottled on date. Acquired this as part of the variety twelve pack from the local Jewel. "Wheat ale brewed with ginger" according to the label.

Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - Pours translucent gold with very minor haze. Appears well carbonated, with just under two fingers of frothy soapy white head that stays away, leaving good random strands of fluffy lacing. Looks nice.

S - Aroma of dusty wheat / grain / malt / adjuncts. Perhaps a very subtle hint of something else, though i wouldn't call it fruit or hops or even ginger for that matter. Lightly fumey / estery. A pretty bland one-dimensional aroma.

T - Taste is grainy / wheaty / fluffy, lightly metallic near the finish. Again, perhaps a very faint note of fruity crispness, but i wouldn't call it citrusy, hoppy, earthy, piney. Grainy, with notes of yeast on the end. No overt notes of ginger either, which i find usually imparts a citrus sort of character. Again, bland and one-dimensional.

M - Feel is smooth, crisp, & creamy. Light-bodied & easy-drinking stuff, with a dry grainy finish.

Overall, a pretty bland offering from Magic Hat; definitely no where near enough ginger to make this one interesting. Drinkable stuff, would probably go over well with craft beer virgins and summer barbeque.

Poured from a 12 oz. can showing a golden color with a fluffy white head. Some particles along with carbonation floating throughout.

Smells like a gingerbread cookie with all of the ginger and white bread pulling out of the nose.

Tastes like a cake infused with ginger. With all of the malty smells and spices I am really getting a lot of sliced ginger cake taste.

Mouth feel borders on medium with a refreshing wet finish on the back end. There seems to also be some warming on the back end as well. At 5.5 ABV I think this is more a spice warming than an alcohol warming in my humble opinion.

Overall, another take on a wit beer. Whether spiced with Chile peppers or ginger these guys are here to stay! I liked this entry into the wit market and was glad me and the wife gave it a spin. Both of us enjoyed this coriander flavored ale and would probably enjoy more, if only the 12 pk were more willing!!

Bottle from a Lazy Dog
Slightly hazy deep golden color. Initially some skunkiness that dissipated. Light spicy wheat sweet bready and cereal malt with a bit too much ginger for my tastes. Nothing horrible, but not for me either.

A: The beer is relatively clear pale yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of wheat are present in the nose along with hints of bready malts.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, having flavors of wheat along with notes of bready and grainy malts. There are also some notes of ginger, particularly in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and somewhat tastes like a hybrid between a American Pale Wheat Ale and a German Pilsener.

Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of orange, wheat, slight hop, slight pale malt, and a hint of pine. Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at "The Pub" in Gettysburg, PA. This beer looks a lot like a cider instead of a beer but it has a nice small white head. The aroma is wheat and some ginger. The flavor is a watery wheat / ginger mix. I found this to be a pretty good beer, probably a really good session beer while spending time on a lake.

I tried this from the bottle in a tulip pint, chilled.
under the cap: "take two lumps when you are in the dumps"

The color is golden with light haze and small white head with fine bead. The smell is mild with toasted wheat and light fruity aroma with a ginger scent and spicy tropical quality. The feel is mild with light body and subtle spice with low sweetness and moderately high carbonation with slightly spicy dry finish.

The taste is good with malt flavor yet only slightly sweet with mild ginger accent and slight yeast flavor augmenting the tropical quality of ginger with subtle pepper-type spice warming in the back. I would drink this again since I am a fan of ginger in beer -but a pretty easy drinking wheat in general, not outstanding but quenching and enjoyable.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color with a large dense white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains wheat, citrus, light caramelized malts and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some sweetness comes in from flavors of citrus and caramel. The hop presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer but there are several others in the style that I would pick first.

Magic Hat had a good idea to make a summer wheat with some ginger in it but in execution this beer was a bit of a dud. It was sweet but not the way a wheat beer should be so the balance was off and the ginger was not noticeable.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

A ginger flavored wheat ale, simple as that though the beer side seems a bit faded. A lot of focus on the ginger and making this beer crisp and drinkable. Some smart thinking behind this brew though it ends up being a one and done for me ... was hoping for a beer, yes its a beer though my taste buds are still waiting for that beer character to unfold.

Ug, this looks like it'll be bad, like every beer they've made since getting sold 8 years ago or whatever it was. Magic Hat still has a little place in my heart since they started my into craft beer.

"May the Hat be With You" says teh cap.

Pours a smaller fizzy head that fades very quickly, touches of lacing, a mostly clear slight chill hazed lemony straw yellow color.

Nose lemony bready dough, lemon fruit loops cereal, smells like Leinenkugel summer shandy kinda thing, a fake lemony thing with a bit of a ginger extract, ginger ale like, a little wheat.

Taste is more of the same, a fake lemon and fake ginger extract like flavors, lemon cereal fruit loops, little doughy, into some wheat flavors, a weird mineral note in the middle,. Then the back end and esp the finish is this horrible bitter rind skunky flavor, like pouring skunked bud light into a bag of yellow skittles and mixing it with beaver piss. Damn that finish is so horrible I can't go on with sipping it to get other characters.

Mouth, from what I remember since I'm not daring to take another sip, was lighter bod, decent popping carbonation at least, but a little flemmy sticky finish thing.

Overall blech, oi, wtf was up with that finish!

Pours a clear golden yellow, left a bubbly white head that had decent retention, settled down to a small ring with minimal lacing left behind.

Smell is subtle, slightly fruity, some orange peel, citrus hops.

Starts off bright, with some buttery cream, a touch of coriander, ginger, a light bitter bite takes the middle and through the finish, with a toasted biscuit malt character. Tastes very similar to Blind Faith, just less bitter, maybe a bit sweeter overall.

Light bodied, fairly clean mouthfeel.

A pretty tasty ale.

Gold in color with a light haze of fine sediment within the body. A fingernail of off white surrounds the rim and covers about half of the top. This looks similar to the Schlafly ginger beer I had and wasn't fond of. Aroma is of pale wheat and ginger. The flavor is a limp blend of pale wheat and ginger. This is highly carbonated and very watery.
