At the brewery. Sample. Brewed for the VT Brewers Festival.
Pours a thick black with thin tan head. Nose is super roasty and bitter smelling like dark chocolate and cocoa nibs. A little tart aroma too. Palate is bitter and does have a cherry-like tartness that is not unpleasant but surprising. Cocoa nibs, chocolate-covered espresso beans are a major flavor. Bitter gripping finish.
Decent but that tartness is concerning.
