L: (from a 1 pint can) Pours a clear auburn red. Minuscule carbonation bubbles. A foamy and somewhat rocky tan head. Plenty of lacing.

S: Roasted malt. Sweet. Burnt toffee or caramel.

T: Heavy on the roasted malt. Leans into that burnt toffee flavor with a dry bitterness. It may be from hops, but it’s more of a burnt toast bitterness than hops tasting in my opinion. Sweeter in the nose than the taste for sure. The can says “spicy” hops, that doesn’t come to me personally.

F: medium bodied. Not overly sticky sweet like many reds, more of a roasted, bitter dry finish.

O: I like the roast and bitterness of this one. Retains its malt character without tasting like candy. Pretty good red ale.

Brilliantly clear, mahogany color, and tan, large, rocky head that persisted to the end of a pint can.
The aroma was roasted malt, with some sweet caramel malt, and no significant hop character.
The flavor was highly roasted malt with significant caramel flavor, which seemed slightly burnt, but not unpleasant. No faults noticed. There was more than enough bitterness to balance the malt.
The finish was faintly bitter, dry, and clean. The moderate strength (5.5%), high carbonation, medium body, and dry finish result in a pleasant and refreshing beer.

This sample was more roasted and bitter than past pints, which I remember as more balanced. The name is Red, and the can says it's an amber ale, but it doesn't really fit any style category. It's more bitter and roasted than an Irish Red Ale. Some American amber ales are bitter, but the hopping in Red seems European and English rather than American. The high level of roasted malts is distinctive and will probably appeal to drinkers of Irish Dry Stouts, which are plentiful in this area.

Pours a nice red clear with bubbles rising to the thumb sized tab head, decent lace. Aroma is lots of toasted caramel malts, light toffee and earthy notes. It's malty good amounts of toasted malts caramel hints and light toffee notes. Finish is lingering toasted malts with earthy hops for a touch of bitterness. Mouhfeel is medium with slightly peppy carbonation. Overall not a bad beer fairly normal for a malty amber.

This beer is weird. I've had it a few times now and every time it feels dry, is too sweet, and too thick. I don't like this beer, the look is great with a deep red color and nice head and the smell is passable. But the taste is just too sweet for me and the feeling is way too dry

A nice surprise during a visit to Hyannisport, MA, brought some home with me, there's a vacation in every pint!
