Picked up a growler at the brewery, where I was informed this is a fresh hopped beer using hops grown at the brewery. Pours a hazy, muddled, orange-tan coloring with a filmy, clingy, low profile, off-white head. Aromas of toffee sweet and roast, citrus sweet, and subtle resin notes. Flavors are a bit more bold, with a solid toffee and caramel backbone blending nicely, and a solid hops presence of pepper spice and cedar pitch. Bold, well blended and balanced flavors. Smooth, solid bodied beer with a decent lacing left in the glass. The aftertaste is also balanced, with toffee, caramel, grapefruit, and a solid bitterness. The finish is tangy sweet, with a building bitterness as you drink.
