Tasted by half-pint at the Lord Moon of the Mall, a JDW pub nr. Trafalgar Sq., London.
A: orangey golden hue, coming with a thin layer of bubbly beer head, very low carbonated.
S: flowery hops and apricot fruitiness abound, followed by sweet candy and very mild malty aroma, while a more assertive spicy tinge of hops reveals in the background.
T: flowery hops expands w/o limits on the palate... followed by a floral bitterness and an intriguing (peat-)smoked maltiness developing fast towards the deep ends of the sides of my tongue... lingering aftertaste and full of aroma.
M&D: extremely smooth on the mouthfeel. The profound yet quite subtle entry of hops is executed cleverly, bringing a good depth to the light-bodied beer, making it really quaffable. But, of course, it could've been even better if served fresher. I really like Loddon's complex hoppy brews, and this one is no exception!
