On cask at 'spoons.
Medium amber. Thin frothy and lasting head.
Limited aroma. Malt and green floral hops.
Taste is more apparent and reflects the aroma if somewhat rustic. Nice bitter finish.
Conditioning is very good - smooth and easy to drink.

Transcribed from Notes of 23/10/2006, this was the fourth beer tasted at the Capitol, a JDW pub in Forest Hill, SE London, during the chains Full Moon Beer Festival.
A: bright reddish amber hue with great clarity, coming with a thin beer head and very low carbonation.
S: dried-fruits on a par with lightly caramelised sugary malts, while Styrian Goldings aroma also abounds at the back, with its mildly spiciness, orangey hints, and a mildly apple-ish fruitiness.
T: like all other Loddons brews that Ive tried, this ale shows a deep imprint of lively, predominant hops, featuring Fuggles deeply herbal and wet tea-leafy notes and Styrian Goldings slightly spicy edge, both buttressing semi-roasted malts and bitter-sweet yet dryish nuttiness Lingering, slightly tannic, yet moderate bitterness of dried leafy hops help prolong the aftertaste.
M&D: the texture is smooth, softly carbonated, and natural; all in all this is a very successful, med-bodied, hoppy Best Bitter designed for real ale lovers and hopheads alike to quaff!
