Tasted by half a pint at the Monks’ Retreat, a Wetherspoon pub in Reading. Served by a swan-neck hand pull.
A: dark golden, thin fluffy head, low carbonation.
S: muted aroma, with some hints of Goldings but very hard to discern; malt is super light. A swirl brings up some boiled apple-like fruit esters. Not unpleasant but not remarkable in any sense.
T: pretty bitter following the lightly citric-fruity & lightly estery entry, packed of dry & bitter English hops against a super thin, gristy malt background towards a long but clean finish, with more bitterness felt down the rear of the palates.
M&O: refreshing but softly-carbonated, easy drinking with a good depth of bitterness, but falling short of aroma & hop flavours, alas.

Served in a pint glass at the Whey Pat in St Andrews. From notes. Reviewed 25 May 2011.
A: Very clear. Light white head. A pale straw-yellow.
S: Hops? Creamy. Very light.
T: Creamy and sweet -- nary a trace of bitterness. Well, I take that back...there is a trace of bitterness on the finish. I suspect sparingly used Fuggles.
M: Again, creamy, with a slight bitter dryness on the end.
O: Not my idea of an IPA, but pleasant nonetheless. Sweet and fruity.
