I've never been a huge fan of pumpkin beers, but I had high hopes for this one. Bastone makes solid beer and excellent food, so if anyone could get me to enjoy this style, I figured it would be them. They came pretty close.
It's dark orange-brown, and looks fairly thick. The smell is a nice blend of sweet fruits, dry grains, and spices.
The level of spices in the taste seemed a bit high. Lots of clove and peel flavors, but it balances pretty well with the sweeter pumpkin, banana and sugary caramel flavors. Decent bitterness from the hops.
Felt a bit thinner than your average porter, but went down smoothly. The spices and acidity hurt drinkability. But overall, not a bad brew at all.
