Finally made it up to Shorts. Takes up a big part of downtown, 5 rustic buildings worth. Lots of interesting beers on tap, wide variety of styles. Food was well above average. Big gift shop with carry out cans. Service was very friendly. Glad I finally made it up, hope to return.

Shorts Brewing Company is located in the Village of Bellaire a nice quiet and friendly small town in Michigan's Northern Lower Peninsula on the west side of the state. Shorts is inside an old renovated brick building.
The tap selection was extensive with approximately 21 unique brews. The brewery also had a large selection of beer in bottles and cans. The beer was fresh and prices were reasonable. The staff was knowledgeable about their offerings. Unfortunately I had eaten prior to visiting so I did not try the food. However, the food looked and smelled good.
If you are anywhere close to Bellaire stop and visit the brewery - sure worth the visit.

Very nice place; additional seating on the outside for those who like that sort of thing.
Beer selection was adequate; the food was also very, very good.
Service was excellent! These people truly car about their patrons and strive to make them comfortable.
Only issue I had with this place was the uncomfortable chairs. High, metallic and very narrow. My dad's fat ass could hardly fit (albeit he is very large).

Great visit to a bustling spot, lots of fine choices, beer and food. The service was a bit lackadaisical, friendly but often absent. That said, the bar staff and shop staff were attentive and helpful. The beer is exceptional, frankly a significant step above what I expected based on the beers in circulation at home. The variety was not surprising but the quality takes on wild ales and NE IPAs made an impression. I liked Short's before, but I have a renewed respect for their brewing chops.

Cool old hardware store in a small town in northern Michigan. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gets busy in the summer but plenty of seating. Live music on weekends. Great beers on tap and even some specialty bottles available only there to try.

Went there for the first time and it was really nice. I really like their Autumn Ale, Space Rock, Strawberry Shortcake, lager, Huma, Anniversary Ale, Soft Parade...those are my favorites that I can remember right now.
