Had this on tap at Bulldog in Yurakucho, Tokyo. Poured into a tulip glass. Cloudy light brown with a beautiful thick offwhite head. Wonderful balance of bitter hops with sweet notes of muscat grapes and passionfruit. Smell stronger on the bitter side, making this seem more aleish than a lager. Bittersweet balance stays in the aftertaste as well. Soapy lacing stays inside the glass as I finish as well. Overall, an amazing lager that I think cheats a bit in its mimicing a great ale! Love it!
(Had this again at Vivo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo on 17 July 2013, and it was even better than I remember! Upped my rating!)
(Had again in Yokohama in March 2021 and lowered my rating. I was too enthusiastic before. It's still really good for what it is though).
