This was originally set to be Amnesias flagship beer though with months and months of delay, its unclear whether Precious Pils now serves that purpose. Amnesia is a dark bar not the kind of place you could read a book, and not very accommodating towards observing the visual details of the house beer. As best I could tell, Precious appeared to be pale gold, perhaps with a measure of copper. The head and lace were marginal.
Precious starts with good intentions. There is initially a dry malty flavor along Bohemian lines with a grainy, slightly sulfury smell. But the bittering can be a bit drab and the finish is downright unappealing. The intricacies of the styles deceptive simplicity are not at all present. Something here is definitely pointing in the right direction -- without actually going there. But the aftertaste just kills it. Honestly, this beer leaves a bad taste in my mouth; one that is meaty, sulfury, and foul. Pass.
