Brewed with Crystal malts and Belgian candy sugar.
A staple Winter Ale for us. Strong and rich as it is, it still comes off as an extremely easy drinking beer with layers of depth. The alcoholic warmth is pleasant and not over the top. The malty body is slightly sweet but not cloying.

Had at the Vancouver Winter Brewfest 2016. Don't remember anything about this beer other than reading the other reviews of it. My program lists it at 8.2% and 55 IBUs. Maybe every batch is a little different.

Appears Hazy brownish ornge.
It smells of grassy citrus hops. I also get a slight pine like hop smell. There is also a bread like somewhat sweet malt smell as well. I get notes of toffee.
It tastes initally of carmel roasted malts. i get a slight vanilia like taste. iget a bit of a bread like malt flavor as well. the beer finishes with a strong hoppy flavor. i get a bit of a pine like flavor. there is a fairly bitter aftertaste. though it finishes with a strong bitter flavor the malt sweet flavor is also present in the aftertaste. a strongly flavored yet nicly balanced beer.
The mouthfeel is somewhat creamy and the carbination is somewhat low.
The drinkability is not bad for the beer. It goes down fairly smooth.
Overall a pretty good winter seasonal that is very malty and hoppy.

On tap the Horse Brass today
The beer pours a copper amber color with very good head retention and lacing. On the nose, the beer smells pretty sweet and malty, albeit with a hint of underlying citrus. The flavors on the palate replicate the nose, except there is a LOT of flavor in this beer. It's very rich with lots of sweet malt, which inparts a lot of sweet fruit (like cherry, apple and sweet melon). However, the beer has a good dose of hoppy bitterness, which makes itself more prominent with ever sip I taste. The beer has something of a creamy, buttery mouthfeel, which I really like. Drinkability is OK, though the sweet malt and 7% abv. detract just a bit.
This is a very nice winter warmer from Amnesia. Probably couldn't drink a whole lot of it, but a glass or two would be perfect on a cold night.
