At last, a Main Street ale that is interesting, distinctive and charismatic. This summer seasonal is alive with an exotic citrus aroma, a hearty expansive flavor, and a robust and tireless body. The taste is strong and yeasty and spiced with notes of pepper, grapefruit, and mischievous alchemy. The color is a clouded apricot and the bartender made no presumptions as to whether I would care for a wedge of lemon. He graciously asked my preference.
This beer, like all Main Street ales I have seen so far, is devoid of lace or a head, and the carbonation is restrained. However, this hefe has an exciting flavor profile. It is bold and uniquely triumphant.
