A pleasant, casual, and approachable ale that doesnt reach far afield. It is headless and laceless, and the aroma has been abducted by the smoky ambiance of the Black Roots Bar, then obliterated by chlorine on the glass. But it sure is a good-looking beer: clear, deep red, with a haunting, bloody body. Real pretty.
The mix of eight different malts doesnt make this an especially malty beer, and the Northern Brewer and Cascade hops make only a timid appearance. This is one of Main Streets six regular beers and the menu describes it as having, a distinct hope presence. I find that reassuring.
