Pilsners really ought to showcase their refined clarity. This one does not. It is a yellowish-goldenrod color with less-than-lagered clarity. It also lacks for adequate carbonation, head, and lace.
Appearances aside, 4th Street's German Pilsner is an otherwise refreshing and drinkable brew with a light, biscuity aroma and pilsner malt flavor touched upon by raw cereal with perhaps a bit of chaff. It is dry, crisp, amply bittered, and offered as a summer seasonal.
