Grabbed a pint today at lunch to try..
- Clear, and rather dark... amberish brown... thin white head down to a bit of lace making goodness.
- Light scent as well... crisp bittering hop, sweet caramel notes.... lightly grainy..
- Caramel, malty grain... floral and bitter pine hops... but rather light.... lightly grassy.. little biscuit, and bready notes.
- Slightly chewy... medium bodied... a touch under carbonated....
- Overall a very decent lager.. one to use to convert a bud, miller, coors fan over for sure.

New discovery at Laughing Planet/Pearl today; saved a trip to Gresham, as I haven't seen many (if any) 4th Street beers outside their East County envivirons. A pint pour.
A: Really a lovely pint: crystal-clear complexion, few sleepy bubbles wriggling upward. Plentiful head, a shade under a finger's worth of ivory cream. Beautiful lace in wide stripes, as if daubed on with a sponge.
S: So it's a pretty beer, but a hum-drum one, aroma-wise. Simple caramel malts, the thinnest berry fruit and spice. Doesn't smell bad at all, just weak/drab. Allowed to warm a while, still not much here.
T: Biscuity, cereal-filled maltiness with good honey strokes and grassiness. Drying in the finish, black pepper and darker roast. Maybe a little less sweeter than the 'expected' Vienna Lager; maybe this is a hoppier 'Northwest twist' on the style's standard bearers?
M: Crisp and bright upfront, surprisingly deep body for an under-5% lager. A little lip-gripping stickiness.
D: Enjoyable and easy-drinking, sessionable. Went well with a Hot Lips pizza slice of bacon/spinach/red pepper (yeah, I mixed lunch spots); one I'd have again.
