Febr. 2007. 500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. British porters often have an aroma and flavour reminiscent of plums, but this one is actually made with real plums. Dark brown colour, moderate tan head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malts, plums/prunes, bakery and mild coffee, hints of smoke. Rounded, smooth and mellow flavour with a very subdued bitterness, notes of gently roasted malts, just a hint of plums. Nice.

Dark ruby, but not quite brown or black. Definitely more reddish in appearance with a very white head.

Nice, fruity malty scent but really not the scent of a porter. It smells more like a brown ale, or a mild. Fruity, malty, and brown sugar but no roasted malts.

Raisin-y, slightly plum taste. Sweet brown sugar and a bit of malts. Citrus hints. Not really a porter taste, but still enjoyable.

A bit on the carbonated side, but still somewhat enjoyable. I'm not sure if its the plums, but this really doesn't come off as a porter.
