not your usual brewpub. this is more like your average pub that just happens to do a few of their own beers. they had a couple going when i went there and plenty of sport so i couldnt argue, but a far cry from any other pub of this kind ive been to. not a bad thing tho.
this ones worth it if only for the fact you have to take the classic glenelg tram to get there. nothing like an old tram ride to kick things off. their house beers were fair, and they had a nice selection of other brews going, like coopers, southwark and james squire going off that tap. but the real clincher with this place is they had a fridge full of trappist ales going at about 50c more than retail. you cant beat that anywhere. not only that, but they have the right glasses for the occasion. orval, rochefort 10, chimay blue, you name it they had it. dammit they had a better selection here than any belgian beeer cafe ive been to in this fine land of ours. fortunately the very fine young ladies behind the bar had some idea how to handle these beers.
in terms of house brews, i would have walked away from here a little disappointed, but geez their trappist selection more that made up for any shortfalls. if youre in adelaide, its worth getting down here.
