First French beer for a while...I spent 9 months living in Paris, tried nearly all French beers and didn't really like any of them...but I never tried this one, until now ; ) This seems to be quite rare, considering the number of reviews on this website...
Label looks like it was made in 5 minutes using Microsoft Paint. Let's hope they didn't also use Microsoft Paint for what's inside of the bottle.
Will it be like a Belgian Tripel? Strangely, this is spelled as "Triple" as opposed to Tripel. And France and Belgium speak the same language (mostly).
Drinking from a pilsner glass to emphasize the head! Which is foamy, with scattered larger bubbles inside. Not particularly smooth, it kind of breaks down to look uneven. This beer is mega alive, it has had bottled refermentation for sure. Lots of foam still inside the bottle after pouring. I'm changing to a more Duvel shaped glass ; ) Colour of the beer is quite dark, almost brown. Aroma is very subtle, I am not detecting much at all except a slight sweet banana aroma. And some raisins.
Taste is much stronger than the aroma. Kind of unique, not similar really to a Belgian tripel, or a dubbel. It's quite complex, spicy almost. Kind of between a dubbel and a tripel, with some mystical stout properties. I guess this is what a French "Triple" is then.
There are so many different flavours happening, my taste buds are confused a bit. But overall, I definitely like it. It's a very brave beer attempt and seems unique also (to me at least). I would like to try this draft, it would definitely be amazing.
I just realised it contains juniper berries...this explains why my taste buds were so confused...but I think they go perfectly with the beer for sure ; )

L- Like a darker Long Island Iced Tea with a 1Cm white head on top (holds well).
S- Very mild, perhaps a touch of rich fruitiness?
T- Different and interesting. It's not like a Belgian Tripel with huge depth/ABV% etc, it's a bit lighter and a brighter more open palate. It has a balancing hoppy zing in the finish.
F- Carbonation in the mouth is very good. Balanced, 7% yet that's understated by the hopping and carbonation.
O- Interesting, slightly different, and I'm quite enjoying it. It's like a more trad Belgian Tripel just with the hopping amped up somewhat. I'd drink it again but don't know if I'd be buying it again at the London price. Bought from Nicolas Wines, London W11 £3.60/330ml bottle.
Late ps. I just glanced at the back lable and I see this contains juniper berries... explains the alt/fruit note in it.

Cork and caged 0.75 litre brown bottle: I have a feeling this brewery brews the same beers under different names, no proof, just a hunch.
Anyway, this bottle was poured into a couple of 'Palm' tulips and an Augustijn chalice without any sediment leaving the bottle. All three glasses held an orange brew, almost clear but not quiet see-through: each on top had a good foaming head.
The beer had very little aroma, some fruity, flowery esters along with a hnits of yeast.
The taste was fairly bland, a disappointment to be honest: weak flavours of not much, some yeast remains and a semi-sweet malt feel to it, the hops offering nothing to the brew.
Wish I'd spent my money on something else. Would have struggled to finish the bottle without help.
