Intense appearance: a quickly fading fine creamy head on a dark mahogany color with some dark purple notes. The smell is yeasty and fruity, with molassas and roasted coffee. The taste is enjoyable chocolate and coffee, like moccha, with some caramel. The mouthfeel is enjoyable, although a bit watery maybe. Quite drinkable. I like the long lasting caramel flavor combined with the hops, it stays in the mouth forever.

Dark black color, coffee-like. Thin light tan foam haze comes and goes. No lacing. Nose is breezy coffee and light malts. Whiffs of charcoal.

Taste is roasted grains and coffee, burnt wood. Bitter chocolate rounds it out with the hops at the end. Fruity elements also come and go both in the mouth and in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is very good, medium creamy body. Much easier to drink than other Japanese dark ales I've had--seems to be easier on the stomach.
